HELP !
istoryans,

first, try to transfer it to another slot, and see if u still get the same prob, else try this:
set your FSB to 133mhz...... it cud be in the BIOS setup or in the motherboard's jumper setup.
NOTE: Just make sure your processor can support 133mhz FSB... else it will stop working and may not display anything on screen.
whats your MOBO and proc?
try to put the 256mb on slot1 . do you have onboard video maybe it take up some memory?
Bro P3 933mhz ang proc then ang mobo (i dont know if sakto ni, pro it says sa system info VT82C692BT)
mo-support ug 133 iya FSB...
I got 1 128mb NCP SDRAM (pc133) -this one works ok
I bought an additional 256mb Twinmos (pc133) - kani kay 128mb ra ang ma-detect...
unsa kaha problema ani oi....?
whats ur motherboard?
its also possible that the memory u bought is defective katong 256 nimo na 128 ra mo register.. kay bisag unsaon nimo ug set ang frequency sa CMOS ang CPU ra man na processor ma change dili man ang memory... automatic man gyud na mo detect kung pila memory nimo.
dili pod possible na video sharing kay normall it will share up to 64 mb ra man and not 1/2 sa imong memory ang ma kuha.
so it might be a slot problem or a memory problem
pa check ang imong napalit na memory... balik sa tindahan.. asa man nimo na gipalit bah?
Bai ang problema naa sa imong motherboard.... Kanang imong motherboard dili mo support ug 256 MB nga memory, so ang maximum is 128 MB lang per slot.... Try to use only 128 MB for every slots you have !..... ;D
Sana nakatulong !
Your motherboard is not compatible with "high" density sdrams (use low density sdrams,) low density sdrams are hard to find because most sdrams today are high density, so by installing them in old motherboards that do not support them you only get the half size of the ram.
even if you plug in 128mb sdram, if it is a high density ram you will still only see 64mb.
kung pwede try update ang bios imo mobo.
para nako.two things:
naa na sa technology sa imong sdram. nga dili masupport sa imong mobo.
that always happens with old chipped mobos. u may try( if u can borrow double sided 256MB sdram : imong 256 single sided ra no? ) it on any slot alone. boot. watch the POST. pila man ka MB?
sa ani nga situation. DOUBLE SIDED PQI SDRAM ang mau.
or na fry na imo SDRAM. leaving it with only one side of the memory chip cluster functioning. mudagan na.
try ur SDRAM on another pc with 133mhz slot. watch the POST. pila man ka MB?
these are all based on my experiences. au-au ug compyuter, pamugas sa kabos ba.
I have a problem with this long time ako.. I have a 256mb sdram, ni detect man.. Nag palit ko another 256mb para upgrade, wala na ni detect..
Difference nila is, one is single sided and ang isa dual-sided na ram.. Try trading your 256 na single sided to a double sided na sdram..
