Man faces case for kissing girl, 8
A MAN thought he could get some action with an eight-year-old girl for P5.
Actually, he did. But this led to the filing of a case for acts of lasciviousness in relation to the Anti-Child Abuse case or Republic Act 7610 against him.
The accused is Miguel Abellaneda, an adoptive father.
The alleged victim, eight-year-old Fatima (real name withheld), narrated in a sworn statement how she was abused by the accused last Dec. 8.
Fatima said she was at Abellaneda’s house in Barangay Calajoan, Minglanilla, Cebu, watching television with her older brother and Abellaneda’s son.
At about 1 p.m., the three children prepared to go back to school.
“I was shocked when Abellaneda held my hand and dragged me towards the chair and told me to sit (while) my brother and his adopted son continued walking in the direction of our school,” read Fatima’s sworn statement.
“(He) embraced my body tightly and then he kissed my lips once; then my neck twice. Later on he gave me P5. I felt pain when he kissed my neck,” Fatima said.
After that, Fatima’s mother appeared and dragged her out of Abellaneda’s house.
Fatima’s ten-year-old brother, assisted by his mother, also submitted a sworn statement supporting the girl’s story.
“I saw Abellaneda grab the hand of my sister and then he embraced and kissed her on the neck,” read the statement.
Fatima’s mother did not think negatively of the incident at first. But Abellaneda’s act seemed less and less fatherly, she said.
“I thought he had no malice in kissing my minor daughter while sitting on the chair in front of him but then I saw him again when he embraced my daughter maliciously,” read the mother’s affidavit.
Assistant Cebu Provincial Prosecutor Petronio Elesterio recommended a bail of P80,000 for Abellaneda. (JGA)
