Humiliating a student

I'm a teacher in this particular school. By the way our school caters more on the urban poor people her in Cebu. Now this incident happened today. We have this student who's wearing a tattered pants. One of the teachers noticed it and called the attention of the student and the dialogue goes like this.

Teacher: That kind of pants is not allowed here.
Student: Sorry Sir, pero maora lang man gud ni akong pantalon naa.
Teacher: Then pag palit ug bag.o
Student: Wala man koy ika palit ug bag.o nga pantalon sir.
Teacher: Diba gitarista ka? (calling the other students to come closer) Labayi ninyo ug piso para maka palit ni ug pantalon.

I wasn't there when it happened. But the student was really humiliated to the point that it want to quit school. Although the student is not under me I really feel sorry for him. I tried contacting him but no one is answering.

bully teachers are very common than most of us think. this is only a tip of the iceberg and i've seen (and heard) more extreme cases. there was this teacher (back in elementary) who slammed the head of one of his students on his desk because he got so pissed at him. the student then called his mom and of course as an initial reaction, the mom got furious and filed a lawsuit.

A very good example of a bad teacher... such a shame most of the good ones have gone to educated people in other countries...

pwede man tingali na nga ma.report nga teacher, he/she has no right to do that to the student. Tsk tsk tsk....naturingan pa namang teacher tapos ganyan umasta.....

REPORT to DOE/CHED immediately!


Asa na man ang student kay atong tabangan ug palit pants. Mag amot2x ang uban members diri aron maka.palit na nga student of uniform(?) pants or mo.donate para dili na cya sawayon sa walay batasan nga teacher!
