Smile do you recommend using your laptop without its battery?

maayong adlaw mga mam ug sir...

do you advice na if dugay gamiton ang laptop like over night or sometimes more than a day kay naay gidownload, na dili nalang ibutang or gamiton ang batt para dili ma over charge? or naa bay ingon ana?

lithium-ion ako batt and compaq ako laptop basin laptop brand and battery type would matter.

    salamat daan sa mga inputs!

Dunno really why or how it works, but I know that the batteries of friends who keep them in die earlier than those who keep batteries out.

no it will not overcharge. the battery isnt being used if its plugged in and full battery. its only being used if the current stops and when its charging. its that simple.

DONOT use the laptop without the battery because it doubles as a power surge controller, kung blackout your battery will take over. kung no battery and black out the laptop will crash, worse because of the power surge could fry some components. dont worry about your battery being over charged.

also the more you use lithium ion batteries the better. they dont have memory charge and you can charge it whenever however.

Mao ba. I usually used my Laptop with batteries out for 1 day just for watching movies or surfing the net.
I just used the power supply instead. If it doubles the power surge controll can you notice it by means of heating or something in your notebook? In my case i never experience overheating.

Explanation sa akong amigo, ha, so kung wrong iya ang sayop! =D Every battery has a limited number of charge/discharge cycles, so if you keep your battery in, it keeps charging/discharging, that's why those who keep their battery in keep buying new batteries.

HP notebooks have a utility that lets you monitor the condition of your battery, so you can see your battery degrading for every cycle. Like lokster said below, overcharging is not a concern. The number of times your battery goes through a cycle is.

It would be nice to keep the battery in, but they're pretty darn expensive.
