    actually, partitions sa hard disk is not limited to 4 partitions only... its up to you kung pila imo gusto... from C to Z, pwde kaau na... the reason why ngnu mag partition is para ma arrange nimo imng mga files etc... example, drive C is for program files such as OS, D is for games, E is for mp3, F is for vids, G is for skul work, H is for hidden files(LOL)... pero, it needs bigger HDD capacity ky what if gamay ra kag disk space nya gnahan kag dghan nga partition, useless ghapn... dbah? ^^,

    A disk can contain as many logical partitions you wish
    However, only up to 4 PRIMARY partitions can exist...

    Baka naman partitioning for different OS? @yob: so 4 lang pwede maging bootable partitions?

    @Lambselect
    i assume you already understand Primary, Extended, and logical partitions...

    i havent tried every possibility. but i had triple OS running before (WinXP, FreeBSD, Linux on a single HDD) using a boot manager.. of course they they require their own partition.

    i havent tried 4 OS bootable. but i think a Logical partition can also boot, i think i did it before.. placing a winXP installion in a logical partition. so if this is the case there can be more than 4 bootable OS that can exisit in a single disk. an extended partition can contain up to 24 logical partitions if im not mistaken/
