    Default Internet Sharing thru Wireless Adapter


    mga brothers,

    naa lang ko pangutana, kung pwede ba ni siya:

    naa ko 2 laptops(naa na wi-fi), ang 1 connected sa internet gamit ang modem nga gi-issue sa ISP, unya LAN cable ang connection ani. ang akong pangutana mga bro, kung pwede ba i-share nako ang internet connection sa akong 1 ka laptop(connected sa internet), using the wireless adapter para ma-connect akong 1 ka laptop?

    Pwede. Just configure Internet Connection Sharing sa 1st laptop.

    ako na ni gitry galisod jud ko inig enable na sa ICS dili na nuun kaacess ako laptop ug desktop, if ever naay nakaexperience na ani share ninyo how...... kay mahurot tibuuk adlaw configure, read sa printed documents sa ICS.... makabuang....

    makita mn galing sa network ug ping ok.. pero internet can not jud... atot lng

    @Wayth: You said your ping is ok but not the internet. Do check your DNS.

    ako bang iparehas ang desktop ug laptop DNS?

    maybe u have a site that tells about what ur talking about kay ako na lng iprint? or if you can provide more details on configuring ICS, then that will be a lot of help to us NEWBIE in networking ICS... thanks a lot...

    I'll dig up some of my notes for that. Meanwhile, try the manual DNS. if you can use the public DNS then the better.

    btw, whats your set up? Which one is connected to the internet, desktop or laptop?

    my desktop is connected to the internet, then i have to setup wireless USB for ad-hoc mode, kay thru wireless mn ko maglink sa desktop

    then i believe your ICS was already configured correctly. Same with your ad-hoc wireless set up. You can ping your desktop now from your laptop i suppose.

    Do check the DNS of the laptop. Maybe you can start by manually providing IP address, Gateway and DNS to your laptop. Your gateway should be the wireless card/USB of your desktop. Use the public DNS.

    yes i can ping them both...

    unsay number ibutang sa DNS.. sorry i can configure it now kay ako na gipalong ako desktop.. hastilan ning gamay ra tag hanaw sa networking oi.... sensya na bay tambs

    from a DOS prompt in your desktop, issue a command

    ipconfig /all

    It will display two adapters, one for the internet and the other one for the wireless. use the DNS that you can find in your internet adapter.

    For the secondary DNS of your laptop, make it same with your laptop gateway.
