My take: I saw the trailer and it's not the usual Van-Damme movie like his haydays (you know with all those kicking butts). This is more like a reality of JC's life and how he deals with it.

It's, of course, a French film, which invests in great directing and cinematography. It's like a refresh from special effects-laden Hollywood.
