Default MOM and I - Food Wonders at Home

Yes we go to restaurants to try new flavors , we enjoy going abroad to try new cuisines but Home cooking is where my heart is. I'd like to share my experiences with one of the best cooks I know, MOM. I've learned so much talking to her, watching her cook and explain why certain things need to be done right. It helped me in many ways not only in the kitchen but through life.

This thread is open to all who wish to share their experiences with Mom, Dad, Lolo or Lola, other relatives and friends at home, feel free to post your pics and stories of cooking adventure.

With that said Here's to Good Eats

We have a little Herb plot outside , Mint leaves section, theres also a lime sticking out on the right side

    Thai Basil Section

Interestingly when we had Diners Club spoke to insik24 as to his favorite type of cuisine, and he answered Southeast Asian , it made me hungry for it so mom and I decided to do just that

Tofu and Fried Vietnamese Spring Roll - w vermicilli

With Nuoc Cham Sauce - (u can add mint leaves, lettuce, shredded carrots, and peanuts when ready to eat)
Pre add after boiling sili kilikot, garlic

Experimented with Plum and Chili Sauce

Made Vietnamese Chicken on the spicy side served with Nuoc Cham

And since we found Ashinaga Brocolli we thought of trying it out

    More to come

My mother passed away five years ago. One of the precious things she left me was a box of her secret recipes. This is her version of Maja Mais (topped with sweetened coconut meat shreds) which I made a couple of months back.

Hiyee, KE-25 and the rest of the iStoryan cooks...

As of the moment, nothing is stirring inside my caraja but I would like to ask suggestions...

I'm bored with the generic fruit salad that I don't even offer a glance when served on the table during gatherings.
Any tips on how to make the perpetual fruit salad more interesting to the palate?
