My cousin was threatened thru email using yahoo account

My question is it possible to trace the suspect using the email or the ip address?

is it possible to locate the exact location with only email address?

Need your advice and opinion

AFAIK, the most that u can publicly get is what ISP it's coming from. from there, it's either you make a formal request or through legal means. if you know the ISP try inquiring them of your concern. they might be even be helpful. good luck. hopefully, someone here knows ways to do just that.

The more emails received the better it is to track the connection.

If you do not have an IP, and its just a yahoo email address, you wont barely have a chance.

If yu have the IP, it can be tracked down to the ISP, which on their side can easily see which IP was assigned to which customer at what date and time...

if you are using yahoo mail... open the email that you want to check the ip address.... click on the lower right portion of it Full Deaders, check on the received portions of it.... you should be able to see the ip address of the sender.
