Default Timing belt vs Timing Chain

I was just advised by the service center that my car's timing belt needs to be replaced since mileage is already at 60K. Cost hell a lot. So I wanted to throw this question out to auto experts in the forum...which is better? the belt or chain? efficiency, cost? I might consider this when buying a car. Thanks!

Saba gamay ang metal chains pero pwede ra pahilomon with the right fuel and lubricant. Kung palayoay ug byahe, kasaligan ang metal ug maka save ka in the long run. Nissan GA13 engine (on Nissan SENTRA LEC) have metal chains, hilom ra man ang andar labi na maayo ug templa imong fuel ug maayo imong lubricant gigamit.

chains are definitely better in the long run. murag 100k man tingali ang mileage before ilisan ang timing belt.

so far ako mga naagian sa cars i really like chain type engines,,,, have experience once na naputol ang belt and did know na naputol diay and tried to start it a couple of times...too bad ky when maputol ang belt u should not try to start ur car ... dako na noon damage pati valve ilisan... with my chain type if medio loose gamy makauli ra gihapon ka

saba ang chain compared sa belt, mostly Timing chains are used on big diesel engines.
Dont forget the Timing gear which is the most toughest and noisest of them all
