Scam. You think giving off your e-mail address won't hurt or that "it's not like they're gonna profit if I give it to them", right? Well, the people behind these type of scams sell off the list of emails they've collected to marketers and advertisers for a bigger ca$h. Sooner or later, you'll be receiving all sorts of junk e-mails, or spams and more scams. Same goes to websites that ask for cell phone numbers in exchange of "free" wallpapers and "free" ring tones.
