Default From PLDT to Globe ( DSL )

Anyone here who made the switch and got better results, specially on the advertised speeds ( bandwidth and latency ? )

Lately ive been called up by PLDT that they are shifting my node to a new one, and the first thing that came to my mind was speed decrease and i was 100% right.. my bandwidth was cut-off by 50% both upload and download.. when i had problems with my DSL 2 months back they moved me to a new network ( forgot the name ) and promised me that the 1.4mbps im getting will be my final speed.. the 400kbps is a bonus from the new network and assured me it will NEVER go down bellow 1.1mbps.

Today they called up again and explained to be that they are implementing a new system and they will rework the system and give everyone the "proper" speeds that they are paying for w/c in pldt's terms should only be 600~700kbps MAX on my line, I havent tried globe DSL on my own residence but i heard several feedbacks that they give about 1.5mbps for the 999 and 1299 lines even if its advertised as 768kbps only.

What concerns me more is the latency that im getting, on local locations im still getting the same old 70~100ms but on other locations im getting as high as 450 ( double from 255+ before )

bai earl, you mean youre getting no good latencies on that new node you are transferred to in pldt?

how about requesting to be transferred to another node? transferring to globe is a big, big mistake you shouldn't commit..

Yeah after they moved me to a new node my latencies sky rockted, kung mag speedtest ko to singapore before tag 250+ ra karon 450 na ang lowest.. even on LOCAL online games maka feel jud ko kusog na kaayo mo lag...

Tubagon raka nila ug "Sa gawas naman gud na sa PLDT network sir, wala nami ma buhat ana"

daghan horror stories ang globe. i dont have first hand experience though but among my close friends who switched, they say they end up worse. slower speeds pa gani daw.

i see..i guess that is ipdslam, the present network you are connected now that they described as new network of which is really not new. might they are rerouting the network and if this is really it, new patches and reconfigurations on the equipments are implemented that will cause uncontrollable factors until its fully utilized

if pldt will say the word "new", thats one of the scariest word from them.^^ it will really give new experience also^^

look what happened to their ngn network, it is "new", and now it's hold due to overwhelming problems encountered. they are focusing on their ipdslam network now instead in terms of improvement. their most stable network is the legacy.

you may do tracert to pldt site, local site, and international site to check. if no good drop outs shall be received, report it to them for proof.

hehe, kuyaw matakdan ni sa globe.^^ if the problem really out of their network, let say from their international route, they can still coordinate with the admins to deal with it. it will give them further problems if they'll take it for granted.
