SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Bill Melendez, the animator who gave life to Snoopy, Charlie Brown and other "Peanuts" characters in scores of movies and TV specials, has died. He was 91.

Everyone knows Snoopy and has been a part in every kid's life. That goes to show how Bill can make such a simple drawn character into one of the most beloved comic strip icons.
