hehehe... even intel celeron will the right job for that....

    but i'd recommend AMD Sempron,,

ayaw nang mid-tower coz the psu blocks the airway of the CPU cooler,,, not a good idea. better get a 2nd hand full atx casing, you can find in the buy/sell category, suroy lang didto.

I'd go with AMD_infinium05's suggesttion. Second hand full ATX case ang gamita for a new system.

We actually did that (use PIII mid-tower cases) here in the office with systems based on the Pentium D 820, and sad to say they died early because of heat issues (PSU blocking the CPU fan from blowing air towards the Heatsink). BTW....the Pentium D system that dies still used the old 250W PSU that came with the mid-tower case, which is a real no-no when powering such a power hungry processor.

ya, @author: you know what, you cant cool your processor using mid-towers, the PSU itself is dissipating heat, what your actual cpu fan would get is the dissipated heat of the psu... BAD IDEA.

    I hate these cases,

Ok ra na bro, basta masud lang imo mobo. Just to be with your budget, go for AMD with a mobo na onboard tanan. If naa ka hard disk og PSU, Im sure maka assemble ka less than 8t.

    For example: athlon 64x2 4600 2900
    Asrock alive NF7G 2300
    2x DDR2 800 1G 2300
    _____
    Total 7,500

All the rest, use your old parts like keyboard, mouse, PSU, casing. May nindot pa na imo spec bro compared sa ako gagamit karon. Powerpoint.. no problem at all. Vista Ultimate 64bit will have no trouble also.

That is so wrong boss, because you are suggesting that he use his VERY OLD MID-TOWER CASE and VERY OLD PSU, which is probably a 250W model on the specs you suggested.

I say GOOD LUCK making that run. IF you make it run though say hello to random reboots.

@elpropesor: Please heed our advice (me and AMD_infinium05's). Use a full ATX case (second hand from Buy and Sell Section of istorya), AND a NEW PSU, do not use that old Mid-Tower case and that old PSU, if you're planning to buy a new system.

Anyway you look at it, when you buy a new system, treat it as an investment, don't skimp on components like PSU and a casing with good airflow.
