I've witnessed a certain number of cases like this, even amongst women I admire in terms of intelligence..and have always been trying to come up with justifications for them..But, it has remain to be a wonder..
One thing common among these women though is that they have a certain thinking that their partner is dependent on them..That they are responsible for their partner, and they cannot just leave them behind..It seems to sound like charity, but I realized it might be just their own way of giving a rationalization for their own feelings of love which maybe irrational and illogical to some degree..

I would not say that their decision was dumb. We just have a lot of expectations for them that if they don't stand up to our expectations, we say that they could have done better. But have you asked yourself, what if the woman wasn't so smart but yet she would have chosen the same man, would your view change?
