Hello dog lovers ..... my Rottie Casey gave birth today . Sa 6 ka itoy 2 ang patay na and I dont know how it died , nadat-ugan cguro . The 4 others looks healthy and in perfect condition as day old pups . Unsay angay buhaton ? Both me and the dog are first timers regarding these event . BTW ... it is accidental and the father is a Yellow Lab .

- Should I isolate the puppies for proper care ?
- What and how is proper care for puppies ?
- What are the preferred food/formulas for puppies ?
- Should I change the food of the mother for a healthier breastfeeding ?
- Should I just let the mother ( Casey ) handle it the natures way ?
- Should I consult a vet right away ?

sir depende rana nimu pero sa amu dog kay mu help me ug breastfeed sa pups kay di paman cla kita gud so e puli2x namu ug a 2toy. and offer d mom milk sagol with eggs(fresh eggs kanang gikan pa sa market,dont use the ones nga na butang na sa ref.) den e mix pa inom sa mom just my 2 cents! :mrgreen: God Bless sa imu pups!

- Should I isolate the puppies for proper care ? If Dam can nourish them properly, leave the pups with the mom

- What and how is proper care for puppies ? keep their area clean; best to let the pups be in a whelping box...protection na dli madaganan sa Dam. Insulate their sleeping quarters esp. during colder nites.

- What are the preferred food/formulas for puppies ? If still being nourished by the Mom...u just need a multi vitamin as their supplement.

- Should I change the food of the mother for a healthier breastfeeding ? If she's on
commercial dog food - puppy formula for small breeds, you may also give her KAWU (Calcium/Phosporous) & VCO (Virgin Coco Oil).

- Should I just let the mother ( Casey ) handle it the natures way ? Yes! if her maternal instincts is in placed. Otherwise, keep a close watch over the pups.

- Should I consult a vet right away ? Could be of help, if you feel that there is a need for one.

i heard from a friend that if a rottie female gets a bad experience during her first litter...shell end up killing her consequent litters....

That's a misconception...A Brood Bitch that is being bred too early (Maternal Instincts not yet fully developed)Â* can manifest this particular behaviour, REGARDLESS OF BREED.Â* Â*OR the litter (set of pups) is not healthy (Dogs can sense this) at the time of whelping, thus the tendency of the Dam to "eat" her litter, knowing that it will not survive.

Tnx for all the advice . She is now being a real mother to all 4 but I still need to keep the pen clean and get a nutritious food for the mother .

but about my friends rott..., each time they breed her she kills her pups....maybe something else is wrong

no you dont put them in a whelping box

the whelping box should have a large space unya wid railing at the sides (i dont know wats it called) para ma protect ang pups from the mum

breast feed dayon mga pila ka weeks you wean the pup and wean d mum

mum's milk. dayon milk replacer. dayon puppy food na wet from the milk replacer(oatmeal consistency)<<spelling?

of course kani according rasad ni sa akong nabasahan. these are considered guidelines rather than basihanan jud.
sa akong experience, naa koy na apply ani naa say wala. i had my hand of taking care of pups sad for the 1st time.
mas maau jud mo alaga ang askal jud bai IMHO.

@ DOKI ..... oasabot nimo ang ipakaon na sa mama kay PUPPY FOOD aron ang gatas niya has contents from the PUPPY FOOD na maoy makaon sa puppies ? TNX !!

mother dili mupa tutoy sa iyang anak? kay laagan kaayo.

Is it ok to feed it with retail milk like nido?

If so how many times should I feed the pups a day?

By the way the breed of the pups is a Beagle + minipin hybrid.
