Aside from Fedora who is free, you might wanna try Ubuntu...also a free Linux distro, with tons of community support.

suggesting to get gnome w/ it since kd4 has issues though 4.1 b2 says otherwise. there's also xfce w/c I'm still trying to figure out. xfce appearance = simplicity.heh

You Must try FluXbox . I have found this to be the most stable window manager ever. Don't ever settle for all these bloatware crap KDE/Gnome..

ive tried ubuntu and taught it to selected teachers and found bugs on it..still w8ng for the new version again...current i think is 8.0..
