Lightbulb Help with Optimizing System (BUS)

this may also serve as a tutorial para masabtan sa people ang pag optimize sa imong hardware choices.

istoryans, i need your opinion on this. i want to fully optimize my el-cheapo rig. specifications are as follows:
    E4500 Core 2 Duo (2.2 GHz, 800 FSB)
Asus P5S-MX SE (Supported FSB Speed: 533, 800, 1066 MHz, Memory Supported: DDR2 667, single channel)
    2 x 1GB DDR2 533
my question is i'm planning on upgrading memory capacity to 4 GB and at the same time optimize system buses.

will i be better off with my current DDR2 whch is 533 or will a 667 squeeze a bit more juice. i'm planning on going on 4 GB. i'm not sure though if naa ba baligya nga 2GB DDR2 533.

this is what i've always beleived when choosing components:
Your system will only run as fast as the slowest bus.
now, if i go for a 667 memory, this is how the system bus would look like:
    800 MHz (Proc) - 800 MHz (Mobo) - 666 MHz (DDR2 667 memory: 2 x 333 MHz)
on a 533 memory (kung naa 2GB ani nga config ha), this is how its gonna look like na:
    800 MHz (Proc) - 800 MHz (Mobo) - 532 MHz (DDR2 533 memory: 2 x 266 MHz)
do you guys agree with me that going with a 2 x 2GB DDR2 667 RAM is a much better way utilizing the amount of bus i have for the system? if there are factors i missed (bottlenecks, etc.) please explain in your replies.

    Thanks daan

bro, does your board support dual channel memory?
try kuno to refer sa imo manual
since you have 2 mem sticks
as for 4gb, 32bit windows will only detect 3gb
kung plano man gyud gani ka ug new memory go for ddr2 800 nalang

single channel ra bro. 4GB is supported in Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. DDR2 800 is not supported by my mobo sad.

    **edit**

i'm not sure about Vista Ultimate supporting 4GB bisa'g 32-bit. can anyone confirm this? they say it does support 4GB but mapped to other devices, like the turbocache na feature.

pag ilis sa sa imo mobo bro
nindt kaau ug OC headroom sa imo proc

budget constrained lagi...happy naman sad ko sa akong mobo ron, although the proc, i already tried O'clocking it on a decent mobo sa akong migo... 3.0 GHz on stock fan/heatsink.

bootbox, pili sa akong configuration, asa ka ana? 533 or sa 667?

    667 bro
but i think you can get 800's and run 667 on it
that way when you can get a new mobo ok pa ghapon imo memory

    **edit**

found this after a quick google search

Q: What memory goes into my computer, and will a faster speed be backward-compatible?
    A: DDRII memory with support for DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-4200,DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-8500 speeds.
Because DDR2 memory is backward-compatible, you can safely upgrade your system with any of the guaranteed-compatible DDR2 speeds listed below.

    so i guess i'm going for a DDR2-800, future-proof lang gamay.
