this may also serve as a tutorial para masabtan sa people ang pag optimize sa imong hardware choices.
istoryans, i need your opinion on this. i want to fully optimize my el-cheapo rig. specifications are as follows:
E4500 Core 2 Duo (2.2 GHz, 800 FSB)
Asus P5S-MX SE (Supported FSB Speed: 533, 800, 1066 MHz, Memory Supported: DDR2 667, single channel)
2 x 1GB DDR2 533
my question is i'm planning on upgrading memory capacity to 4 GB and at the same time optimize system buses.
will i be better off with my current DDR2 whch is 533 or will a 667 squeeze a bit more juice. i'm planning on going on 4 GB. i'm not sure though if naa ba baligya nga 2GB DDR2 533.
this is what i've always beleived when choosing components:
Your system will only run as fast as the slowest bus.
now, if i go for a 667 memory, this is how the system bus would look like:
800 MHz (Proc) - 800 MHz (Mobo) - 666 MHz (DDR2 667 memory: 2 x 333 MHz)
on a 533 memory (kung naa 2GB ani nga config ha), this is how its gonna look like na:
800 MHz (Proc) - 800 MHz (Mobo) - 532 MHz (DDR2 533 memory: 2 x 266 MHz)
do you guys agree with me that going with a 2 x 2GB DDR2 667 RAM is a much better way utilizing the amount of bus i have for the system? if there are factors i missed (bottlenecks, etc.) please explain in your replies.
Thanks daan
