Default help with local unit pajero

    sirs,

i bought a 2nd hand pajero fieldmaster (2001 model) the last week. my observations for the time i was driving it:

very slow in uphill climbs- as in really slow even if you would floor the accelerator resulting in black smoke coming out of the muffler. noticed this problem when we drove it to Balamban. the power doesn't come out even with the pedal already floored and the a/c switched off

very poor acceleration from halt- it takes a really long time to accelerate to 60 km/h..

yah.. i think this is the major problem..others such as the wiring can be done pronto (ODO mileage is only 52,000km)

i think the engine has very poor compression. any comments/ suggestions/ solution and advices to address this problem sirs?

need help badly. if you know any good mechanics and tuners please share sa contact details.. thanks

why did you buy it without testing?

2001 and 52,000km..... seems like the odometer was reversed.....

lack of power.... could be a turbo problem... or loss compression... or the engine needs an overhaul...

most likely this the engine is more than 200,000km already....

please check also fuel filter and fuel line... change the oil and see the used oil(could be poor maintenance ideally you change oil every 5,000km.)

check the service records since this is a local unit.... you can go to mitsubishi...

Same problem I've encountered with our pajero. Automatic na imu bro or manual? Ours was automatic, we tried to change the timing belt (it has 2 timing belts), then we unhook the wire from to air filter going to the turbo kay mao na mka cause sa black smoke, what happend now is oil is freely dripping on the pire but not that much, not enought to cause an alarm.

I'll ask my father later in the morning sa mga specific terms or names adtu nga part sa engine, and I'll post it back here first thing in the morning.

im sending it to the shop today.. hehe.. pa compression test nko then pa calibrate din yung injector.. actually when we got the unit for the first 3 days it didn't show all the problems.. pag test drive namo sa bukid kanang padong balamban then nagawas tanan ng mga sakit like under powered nya asu kaayu etc.. hehe .. automatic yung pajero ko

I just want to know the service records...

how many kilometers has it REALLY traveled.. I doubt its only 50,000km....

a 50,000km diesel engine will not lose power..... maybe 300,000km

I just asked my father about what he did with our pajero. Btw, he's a mechanic.
Ang breather hose sa rocker arm cover ayaw e connect sa air cleaner nga hose. Ipabitay lang na. (Mao na common cause sa black smoke and low acceleration if you noticed).

Try to check your timing belt if luag or mi skip. We we did to ours was we changed the two timing belts, and now its running back to normal. Hehehe .oftentimes I run 110-130kph with our pajero na
