    Homebrew Browser v0.1.2: server response check, new features - Nintendo Wii News - QJ.NET

    The Homebrew Browser has just received a significant update from Wiibrew developer, teknecal. In case you missed the previous release, the Homebrew Browser allows you to download and update your Wiibrew files straight from your Wii, which means no more need for a computer, no more dead links, no more file extractions, and the rest of that.

    Now on v0.1.2, Homebrew Browser sports a check that makes sure a server response is valid. It also has several new features, including new graphics and a new mouse pointer. Here's the changelog for v0.1.2 from teknecal:

    * Added checks to make sure the server response is valid
    * Uses new graphics made by LowLines
    * New mouse pointer
    * "New" icon appears depending on the time
    * Uses GRRLIB 3.0.1a
    * (A few hours later) Fixed images getting corrupted when loaded previous and next 6 images a few times

    This program remains one of my favorites and I'd love to see every Wiibrew out there get representation in the program, but that might not be possible for a long time yet. ...

    As of this update, the program now also supports the Wiibrew game Tanks. Be sure to read the documentation included in the download archive.

    MPlayer for Wii released!

    introduction

    This is a native port of MPlayer to the Nintendo Wii. MPlayer is a media player that supports a wide variety of formats. This port is currently in VERY EARLY stage.

    You'll need to have the Nintendo Homebrew Channel installed to use this application.

    download

    * v0.01 (07/05/0:
    - MPlayerWii-0.01.zip :
    -Initial release. Full of bugs, audio sync code is awful and will probably crash often. Also, there's room for lots of speed improvements.

    installation

    - unzip the package into the "apps" folder on your SD card.
    - place video and audio files on the root folder of your SD card.
    - launch MPlayerWii through the Homebrew Channel.
    It has been tested with xvids but with stuttering.
    Will be testing it later since naa naman koy Homebrew Channel

    Dili man ko tennis player pero my wife is. When she tries to play it, she says it's too 'kuti' since players have to use the nunchuck as well to control the movement of the player as well as the direction of the ball when you hit it. Mas closer to the real tennis na nuon ang Top Spin 3. Para sa ako og sa wife nako, mas fun ang Tennis sa Wii Sports gihapon

    Homebrew Browser v0.2.0: support for applications that load from SD card, more

    The latest version of Homebrew Browser is now out, courtesy of Wiibrew developer teknecal. In case you missed out on the previous releases of this uber-useful program, the HBB allows you to download and update your Wiibrew straight from your console.

    The program is now on v0.2.0, and now supports applications which load files from the SD card. The program also has several other additional features, all of which are outlined in the changelog here (be sure to read the rest of the documentation included in the download ):

    * Supports applications which load files from the SD card
    * Added categorisation of homebrew applications
    * Ability to install HBB via wiiload
    * Updated tick icons
    * Updated "Download" image to change to "Update" if you already have the application installed
    * New icon displays even if you have an older version of the application
    * Fixed issue when downloading 4 applications HBB would exit
    * Does not download the icon.png file if you already have that application installed

    The program now also has added support for a bunch of other Wiibrew programs, including the compact music player, MiniMP3 Player. Hopefully we get to see more of the Wiibrew community jumping into the project.

    yah kuti gyud xa pero ingon mga ppl once you get used to it kay ok na xa. that's what is nice about it kay you get the realism. the cord of the nunchuck is too short for me it gets in the way sometimes.
