Cops won’t spare TUP officials from hazing probe
TECHNOLOGICAL University of the Philippines (TUP) officials will not be spared from a probe into a hazing case that killed a student 10 days ago in Makati City.
Senior Insp. Gary Reyes, head of Criminal Investigation Section, said they are investigating TUP school administrators, faculty members, and advisers of Tau Gamma Phi fraternity for any possible involvement in the crime.
“If the investigation proved that these people have direct knowledge of the incident they will be charged also of violation of Anti-Hazing Law,” Reyes said in an interview last Friday night.
Reyes said the issuance of a letter from TUP administration saying that Tau Gamma Phi is not an accredited school fraternity or organization is not a getaway from being investigated.
He said they have already invited the school administrator, faculty members and other advisers of the fraternity to give statements about the case. But as of the moment, they have yet to give a response.
“We are now exhausting all avenues to track down other members of fraternity who were directly involved in initiation rites against the hazing victim, Clark Anson Silverio,” Reyes added.
Silverio, 18, and a student of TUP, was hazed to death last March 3 in Makati City.
Seven of the 20 suspects involved in beating Silverio had already been charged before the Makati prosecutor’s office for violating the Anti-Hazing Law.
The suspects, Edmar Gipan, Jayson Fabella, Federico Guanlao, Aldrin Bolado, Regan Toralba, all students of TUP, were formally charged last Tuesday.
Also included in the charge sheet were warehouse owners Mark and Betty Sarayot, of 2702 Guatimala St., Barangay San Isidro, Makati City. Michael Caber

Maayo unta mga preso na sila! No other comment mi ani...
Before we react about HAZING , lets find out first what is really HAZING . PIlay pusta majority here thinbks HAZING is synonymous with PADDLE sa frats ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hazing
Dont be too judgemental in saying DEATH to HAZING MASTERS because the idea was from a report of a frat incident . Of course justice will be served gyud to the responsible suspects but is that gonna be stepping stone na DEATH pod to all commiting hazing . Sometimes we commit hazing without even knowing it as hazing but by definition , hazing na cya . It could be anywhere else , office ... house ... school .... church ....etc .
