Im new in VB programming.... im using VB6... i wanted to make use of a DATABASE... i heard SQL was good and it cost nothing... but then... i tried to look for ebooks about VB6 database programming... but all i see was VB6 with access programming.... im not looking for an ebook.... what im looking for are codes... codes that will connect to an SQL database using VB6... correct me if im wrong... pls.. i really need help here....
a few examples of how to extract data would also be nice....

SQL is not a database. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL.
Instead of using MS Access as Database you can use MySQL, Oracle, DB2, Postgres. You can google for connecting VB6 and the database of your choice.

bro ang SQL kay standard language mana cya nga designed to access relational databases. unya naa na cya 5 types of SQL statements which are Query statements, DML statements, DDL statements, TC statements and DCL statements.
extracting data using SQL is remarkably simple if you know how to use the famous SELECT.

ahhhh... ok.... sayop diay ako understanding... anyways.... mangayo nalang unta kog sample codes kung gi-unsa pag connect sa DATABASE... nga maka gamit kog SQL commands... nakabasa naman kog SQL ebooks and murag masabtan ra ang commands pero ang pag connect lang gyud ang mag-libog ko... pls.... tabang...

try lng cguro vb.net or C# bro ky mas sayon ang conection compare sa old vb6.
i have mine sa una nku project pro MySQL dos version ang database..nyahehe

I'm just guessing bro ha nga diri dapit imo nalibgan. Kay ingon man ka nga kahibalo naka gamay sa vb6. So ang coding wala nako gi apil. Anyway, feel free to post back kay ato sumpayan sa coding nga part just incase naa sa coding ang missing piece nga imo gipasabot.

Pag .NET nalang bro...(VB.NET or C#)., vb6 is pretty old technology.
