    Default PC Remote

    Good Day Network Gurus!

Im having quiet a problem, and somewhat need your expert opinion on this.

Im trying to establish a connection my console to any workstation connected via internet.

So my concerns are as follows:

    1. What type of inet connection the host PC must have in order to put-up a stable connection.
    2. What is the cheapest internet connection possible for such setup?
    3. I have try modem to modem connection, through landline phones, but the connection is very slow, so im not making it a choice.
    4. Have tried using the following remote software
*. Remote connection (built-in windows software, stable but the host pc cannot view the activities once on remote mode)
*. Remote Admin (stable on LAN, not with inet connection)
*. PC Anywhere (stable on LAN, havent tried inet connection)
    5. Any suggestion for a stable remote software?

Thank for reading and sharing ur ideas, highly appreciated.

it needs to static ip right, so if a station's connection is through DSL like the one's free when u subscribed for a lanlyn, which is using DHCP, remote connection cannot be established? or it is possible? thanks.

if you intend to use Remote Desktop connection, you need to setup a Virtual Private Networking on the computers you want to access from the outside. Also, port-forwarding must also be enabled from router or server, then you can simply use Remote Desktop to any pcs you like or use alternatives such as the one mentioned above.

Having a VPN is my preferred solution for accessing PC over the internet, its more secure way and you can access any computers within your LAN. Port forwarding is not necessary if you're in VPN since you can access any PC within your LAN (of course your LAN must be configured properly). If your concerned with a dynamic IP, you can register with any dynamic IP solution provider like dyndyns.org. Just be sure your ISP gives you a Public IP address, smartbro doesn't give you a public IP so it's not the preferred ISP for you. If you don't have a router that supports VPN, you can use many Linux router/firewall specific distribution available like IPCop or Smoothwall. Virtual appliance are ready for download just in case you don't want to setup on your own. For remote access program, if your need is a stealth remote then Remote Desktop is for you or RemotelyAnywhere. If you want an interactive remote, Radmin using ADSL-to-ADSL connectivity the response is acceptable to me.

    Thanks.
