it improves your eye & hand/arm/wrist coordination skills...... yup it is a basic skill you need to do to improve it.....

u shud supplement it with other basic off court exercises like the wrist curls and jumping......

also search the web for the proper grips (holding of the racket); the panhandle grip grip has variations that make the term outmoded....

That is indeed a good start..... but you cannot learn the game alone, you need some teammates to help you para you can also learn how to hit the shuttles at the right direction. mao nga you and your teammate warm-up before a game (kanang hitting lang walay score-score) so that you can hit shuttles at your intended direction..... just make sure nga inig dula sa game, ayaw ipadulong sa imong kontra ang shuttle pero sa logar nga wala sila....kon naay veterano nga player sa imong group, ask and borrow a copy of Intense Badminton. Nindot kini para sa mga beginners like you.....

by the way, common man ang doubles nga game sa atoa- note that many experts write that the game is mostly a horizontal game - meaning more shots are done horizontal coz of the number of players in the court. kon pataas ang imong countershot - this is a give-away or 'venta' mao ang contra maka-smash dayon niini. Mao nga learn how to hit the shuttle as horizontal as possible para dili maka take advantage ang contra. Kanang high shots are mainly useful when both teams are tired, when you are hitting from your court towards the opponent's back court and also in singles games depending on your strategy.

Thanks . Your advices really helped me. I like that line - make sure dili ipadulong sa kontra ang shuttle but didto sa lugar nga wala siya. It helped in my understanding of the game!

    oo, walling does help.
Pero kung beginner ka palang, suggest ko na u do shadowing and lunges instead. Sa shadowing, just do overhead shots over and over again with the appropriate follow thru. But observe or consult first sa vetran players kung paano ang tamang form.

Lunges naman, self explanatory man cya. Same with above, observe and/or consult. If u have the space (I assume na gagawin mo ito sa bahay) do the V front and V back footwork exercise. After ur proficient with the lunges dat is.

i suppose both lunging and shadowing are shown in badminton videos...... as i said try and get a copy of the video Badminton Extreme or Intense Badminton..... try asking around from the veterans of the game.....

I saw some of those videos in youtube...... watching tourneys will also help......

care for some fancy badminton moves?...... search for videos of Peter Gade of Denmark...... one of the game's idols......
