Originally create for Resulinux, Texas Flood is a powerfull boot and after-boot accelerator, by Luciano Andress Martini. It can give you a system from 0 to KDE in 7 seconds and a high performance in old machines.
This might be an old news to some but its a pretty interesting project. Check it out for yourself. Run it on your distro but a word of caution - USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. Its still in beta. So, be careful.

By the way, the linux distro is purely Portuguese. You might have a problem in understanding it. No english available, as far as I know.
