    Default A Nokia Care Experience

First of all, this is not to discourage everyone to go to Nokia Care Center SM to have their phones checked. This is just my experience while trying to have my phone checked their... Knowing that they are doing for Nokia and I assumed that they are much familiar with the unit, so I brought it to them... The problem is that, I am not getting any signal 'cause the phone was accidentally thrown in the pool while trying to enjoy the summer.

Now, after a couple of days, the center inform me that there is no more hope to revive the unit. So I did get the unit back and then I thought of having it checked to another shop for a second opinion. I was thankful enough for Istorya.net because someone referred a shop which could help me with my unit's problem. So I brought the unit somewhere in Sanciangko and have it checked...

To my surprise, the chinese technician told me that the unit was never touched. Because when he opened immediately the unit and tried to let me see what's inside, traces of water moisture still there, and when the phone boot up, the phone's software were intact including my saved files and mp3's. It left me with a conclusion that they really never do anything on the unit except looking at its physical aspect. It made me conclude that whether its an isolated case or not, the fact that my unit is out of warranty, they really never care for it, except for units with warranty... I have been a Nokia user since cellphones existed... from 5110 down to my Nokia N91, down to my nokia N95.

However the good side of it, is that they only charge me with a standard fee which is 200 pesos...

In contrary, I really salute to the guy who revive the unit... The unit now is up and running now and thnx to someone from ISTORYA.NET for the info of the shop that fixed the problem.

I know guys that there might be some contradicting opinions, but this is just my side of the story...

actually, out of warranty na jud ang unit bro... But what I am disappointed with is that they claim they opened the unit... The guy who fixed the unit claimed that it was never touched since there were no traces that the heatsinks of the main chips were opened... Wa sad noon ta kabalo, basin ingon ana sad kalimpyo ila trabaho... ehehehe...

Actually I am not hoping that the unit will stay longer after the incident since I have been using this for almost 2 years na... so ako na sad nabawi ako investment ani nga phone, but glad nga moabot pa jud ug dugay2x... spare unit ra sad ni nako ron...

Thanks sad sa imo opinion bro...

i think naka-timing ka ug talawan, tapulan ug incompetent na technician. magpa replace unta ko complete housing sa akong phone. gi-ingnan dayon ko na basin daw in the process of replacing the casing, ma-damage ang usa ka flex so ang advise is to buy the flex too. i find it weird co'z i've seen the part and it's not that delicate. i have a service manual of my phone too. why would i pay for something na cya ang makaguba? i asked them if pwede ba na paliton nalang nako ang casing parts unya ako nalang ang mu-assemble pero di pud cla mubaligya. duh?!

out of warranty phones should be a + income to them since you pay labor.. doesn't make sense

    you're not the only one..

i brought my n95 for some minor problem, customer rep said to come back after 2hrs. after 2hrs wandering around SM, my phone was still NEXT IN LINE according to them.. told me to come back after 2hrs (total 4hrs already wandering around SM). when i got back 4hrs and 30mins after (i gave them extra time in case) guess what

they were asking for my phone lock code.. it means they haven't touched it yet, and they're only touching it now because i was following up.. i got back the unit (same status as before), went home to my computer, emailed Nokia CustServe.. nireply dretso nangayo ug details which i gave.. after 2 days nokia SM called me and said to bring back my phone (which i never did)

i went to brightpoint escario, after 15mins nahibaw-an na ang problem, tapos.

Guys, I'm not trying to advertise this shop... But mao na na shop nagsolve sa ako problem bro. well & gadget... dapit na sa UC... naa dira naglaray mga cellphone shop, pangitaa lang name sa store... One thing is that they are very transparent kon magrepair sila... They let you know everything kay naa daw uban, pangtangtangan ug mahalon nga mga pisa in case di na repairable ang unit...
