assembly time - 12noon - 1230pm
departure time - 1230pm(from McDonald's Fuente)
briefing - 1pm - 2pm (on site, Dumlog, Talisay)
mangrove planting - 2pm - 5pm(Dumlog, Talisay)

things to bring:
- Bring your own provisions: Drinking water, food/snacks, cap, sunblock, extra clothes (tshirt, shorts, undrewear), towel, soap for washing and alcohol for sanitizing.

Attire:
Rugged - Shirt, Shorts/Pedal and Slippers (palihug ayaw pag havaianas or unsa pa na nga mahalon nga tsinelas kay usik lang kung maputol. mananum ta, dili ta magpagwapa ug mo rampa sa lapok. pag islander or pag spartan lang, pwede pud mag tribu nga slippers, para dili kaayo sakit sa buot kung maputol man gani.)

we coordinated with CCEF and they gave us two locations to choose...we agreed(meeting last week) to go to badian.

i went to the CCEF office yesterday. jheartfred is right, they do have a 2-hectare area within metropolitan cebu that needs immediate help. it's in dumlog, talisay... we still have the reservation for badian, but if we go, though, the foundation cannot handle ALL the transpo expense. a van for an out-town-trip costs 4k, they're willing to shoulder half. we can only plant a few seedlings in badian coz these will have to be transported in another vehicle, say, a multicab perhaps.

they suggested that we plant in talisay. they'll handle the expense for 1 van. talisay being near, i will be bringing my ride. that's an additional car space. probably many other interested istoryans can join us, those with vehicles can bring theirs. the 2k we'll be saving for the van for the badian trip can already get us 200 seedlings, or school supplies for the children on our next activity... galadriel has been informed and suggested i post this for your feedback.

it will take 5-10mins to plant a seedling, depending on how fast u can dig into the mud. CCEF will be providing trowels, they need the final number of participants and the number of seedlings we're going to plant by may 28 (wednesday). no boots are provided, just wear your not-so-expensive slippers.

P5 from the P10 we pay for the seedlings go to the community for their livelihood project, considering that the locals are active in the monitoring of the replanted areas, this will augment their income.

as for the posters, they are willing to provide us with tarps which we can post in our establishments or offices. if we have our own laid-out poster, they are more than willing to print it for us. i suggest we come up with our own so we can be equally recognized in our efforts... i have informed yagit regarding this.

we need to decide where we're going to go. i know some are apprehensive of the safety of talisay waters, the threat of allergies & skin problems have been considered. pollution-wise i don't know. i guess that's where the need for IMMEDIATE COASTAL REHAB comes in. we can work with the foundation and visit the site every year, at least we know how our efforts have fared. if we can come up with a good livelihood project for the barangay, then that will be another challenge for us.
