hot pc!!!!!!! how to solve this thing?

hey guys.. my pc will shut down due to very high temperature.. my cpu temperature is 67 degress celsius with shutdown temperature of 70 degress celsius...

what ive done was.. i opened up my cpu and put an electric fan beside it.. but it still shuts down.. how will i solve this

you need to check if the cpu cooler is in contact with the Chip.

what is your processor?

the motherboard is designed to protect the processor. so if the temperature goes high it will shut down. that is normal.

you need to cool the processor down to acceptable levels so that the motherboard won't shut down.

check your cpu fan if it is installed properly, it is natural for a the proc to shut itself if it is overheating to avoid damage. re-apply some thermal paste after detaching your HSF.

uu 67-70 when it reaches 70 shutdown xa dretso.. sauna i thought software issues ni xa so wala ra ko.. den i realized these days murag sige raman xa ka shut down.. hasta pag open ug internet and watching online movies mu shut down jud xa..

pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz, 224 MB of ram

and ako gi tan aw ang iyang fan sa sud kanang na a sa mother board ok raman xa.. ga tuyok xa pas pas jud.. and sa iyang casing ok man kaayu..

the processor is the one under that fan. i'd recommend u dismount the heatsink fan ass'y & check, re-apply w/ thermal grease and mount back the HSF ensuring good surface contact. better have it done with someone who knows the drill, just to be on the safe side.
