yeah..just watched the movie today..it was a bit slow paced but i liked the characters.the guy playing noah looked familiar.do u know what movie he was in?
Films in the genre of Nick Cassavettes' "The Notebook" --- from Viktor Fleming's all time classic "Gone With The Wind" to Francis Lai-scored "Love Story" --- just cannot be hurried; the primary reason for this is that the dialogue of this kind of movies are such that they have to be articulated with a lot more time. The cure would have been to retain the pacing of the dialogue but cut the scenes shorter; it is the long scenes that make the drag obvious.
Nick Cassavettes was growing by the side of his famous director father John Cassavettes of the "Husbands" fame. His real life mother is Gena Rowlands who portrayed the Alie in the nursing home.
The reason why directors with certain dislike for "drag" --- like Ridley Scott and his brother Tony Scott --- would rather do actions films is that actions and cutting-in-action edit camouflage the drag well. Take, for example, Ridley Scott's "The Gladiator" --- this film also drags in the long dialogue scenes but it does jump with a lot of energy in the action scenes; which means that if we remove the action shots in "The Gladiator", we end up having a very dragging movie.
just watched the movie last night... it's very nice. mayta matinuod na sa real life ang undying love noh?
bitaw..grabe kaayo ang patience and love ni noah..i also liked the ending na dungan sila..atleast ba,they wont have to be alone..

Indeed. I don't remember now who was the DOP. But whoever he was, in The Notebook he was giving the celebrated Caleb Deschanel a run for his money.Originally Posted by marquee

- from The NotebookI am nothing special; of this I am sure. I am a common man with common
thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to
me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my
heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough.
That is sweet, tolstoi. How I'd wished I said that.
