    Default Re: For Deaf-Mute

    Despite knowing that NECROING is a crime,
    I'll make a comment, since wala man gyud ni tubag ani.
    (ug para sab maka create ta ug awareness para sa mga Deaf)

    The Deaf use Filipino Sign Language (FSL);
    it's different from American Sign Language (ASL),
    although FSL is based on ASL.

    FSL vocabulary is English.
    So, the Deaf will fingerspell in English.

    If the Deaf was schooled entirely on FSL
    (from childhood; and was never exposed to Filipino / Bisaya as a hearing person),
    they will have a difficult time understanding Filipino or Bisaya.
    In fact, a good number of them don't know Filipino.

    If you are intersted to learn FSL,
    you can get in touch with the Gualandi Volunteer Service Programme.
    They have an FB page here: Log In | Facebook
