Passport renewal procedures...s*cks!

man! was i pissed off today. my girlfriend and i went to dfa to have her passport renewed since she had filled up her current one and will be leaving this weekend. that means no time for travel agencies since they usually ask 5 days processing. we thought they will only need photocopies of the old passport. we just found out that they are now asking for additional documents such as an affidavit of explanation stating why you need to apply for a new passport (which is quite obvious), as well as barangay clearance to prove your residency here in cebu.

what ticked me off though is that they didnt inform us ahead of the new requirements. we had to be at their office at dawn just to get a slot and then wait until 10:30 in the morning to be called. then they just simply ask for this affidavit of explanation so we have to go to cityhall to get one (naa pa gyuy cedula diay).

by 1pm, we were able to get the first slot for the interview with the director. i waited for more than an hour then my gf came down now furious because they are asking for a barangay clearance. Eventually, we were able to acquire the clearance despite of having no records at the barangay hall. They now use the list of voters as basis of your residency so better register to comelec for faster transactions.

If they told us ahead or even had a bulletin stating the new guidelines and requirements, we wouldnt have this mess at our hands. i ended up with no sleep since last night (im working graveyard shift). honestly, i dont liked their system now. im sorry but it just totally s*cks.

And im not done yet. I have to renew both my parents' passports because the lamination was such a crap! now we have to pay for the damage they carelessly inflicted 2 years ago.

I dont know if my experience will help you guys. I'd appreciate also if you can shed some light on this coz right now, im having nightmares!

dude read the last post. this was 4 years ago. dont know why you still dug this up lol. passport renewal is so much faster, better and organized today especially here in cebu. just took 2 hrs for the whole process to complete when i renewed mine last month.

dude read the last post. this was 4 years ago. dont know why you still dug this up lol. passport renewal is so much faster, better and organized today especially here in cebu. just took 2 hrs for the whole process to complete when i renewed mine last month.

yeah i agree.. i renewed mine just this month.. and around 930 am, it's all done.

just a tip, since they're changing some of the requirements, better call dfa first before going there para d masayang inyo oras..

and no need to bring pictures ky they have cameras there na and just print it up with in your passport..

and ang pinakadali is 22 days na.. so kuha mo sau sau para di mo mbyaan hehe..
