Default good specs for a writer

my laptop has gone to gadget heaven. the vga board got fried. looks like i was working it too hard.

so now i'm looking for a replacement asap. i was planning to buy another one but it could be a waste of money. i might overheat it again.

so i guess a good pc would just do.

my prob is i don't know where to buy and what specs would be enough for my work.

i usually use the pc to write my articles and surf the net.

    got any suggestions?

any help will be greatly appreciated!

mas maayo ang CRT compared to LCD... its due to the higher refresh rater... flicker free...

I would advice you review your sources in regards to refresh rate comparison between LCD & CRT, Also LCDs dont flicker as they dont update the screen in a scan line style.[br]Posted on: March 15, 2008, 09:02:13 PM_________________________________________________@ PC101

A good quality and low priced LCD will be a better choice, flickering issues that causes eye strain.

thanks EarlZ. I did notice that I didn't suffer from eyestrain when I used my laptop but I didn't know why then. So now I know why and I am definitely getting an LCD.

lcd monitors consume less electricity than CRTs too.

add: has better contrast, lighter in weight and lesser in height output.

Answer: For eyestrain problems try this to put in your desktop settings for background display. It helps by the way.
