MANILA, Philippines—A media celeb texted Rushes about the hottest blog in the Net-variously described by Netizens as "addicting," "engrossing" and "revolutionary." (Huh?)
Naming (big pop society) names and tagging them as cocaine users, freeloaders and wild clubbers, it makes "Gossip Girl" look like a Disney musical.
The cyber sensation, which logged over 40,000 hits in its first four days, chronicles alleged shenanigans of local sosi peeps -personalities that may be of little interest to those who worship at the altar of Entertainment.
Then again, a major character in this online telenovela claims to be the scion of a clan with major interests in media and show business.
Now there are allegations that this influential family is moving heaven and earth to have the blog shut down. (Puede ba 'yon?)
Which is not surprising at all. The Third-World socialites are being accused of every crime and misdemeanor in the book-from grand larceny to substance abuse, from widely flaunted infidelities to poor personal hygiene. Makes show biz vixens look like vestal virgins.
Before this blog gets yanked out of the World Wide Web, allow Rushes to quote two items in the "Comments" section, juicy tidbits that Entertainment addicts might find engaging.
A Netizen pointed out that a certain Sexy Star's wide collection of signature bags were gifts from a crooked politician. Ergo, her LVs were bought with taxpayers' money.
Yet another blog fan remarked that a certain Singer-Actor cruises a five-star spa-seeking to hook towel-clad papas. You may ask, who are we to judge his sexual proclivities? But hey, in a TV ad, the closet gay promotes wholesome and healthy living. And as if his exploits weren't stupefying enough, he was also outed in the blog as a cokehead!
Libel can be a drag, so they shall all remain nameless here. However, we repeat, their identities are spelled out online, for all of cyberspace raiders to gawk at! Care for a link? Google Brian+Whistleblower+blogspot.
