JIMREX Jaca, who arrived in Manila with boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, was refused entry into the venue of the press conference at the Manila city hall on Friday morning.
Radio reporters who were on the ground floor of the city hall at the time of the press conference around 9 a.m. said staff from the mayor's office did not recognize Jaca and blocked him from going to the second floor where the conference with Pacquiao was going to be held.
The reporters said they told the staff that the man they were blocking was Jimrex Jaca, but the staff would not listen to them.
Jaca knocked out Mexican Geronimo Hernandez in the first round during an undercard of the Pacquiao-Erik Morales rematch in Las Vegas last Saturday (Sunday in Manila). He arrived on the same flight as Pacquiao on Friday and was supposed to join the motorcade later in the day.
Jaca, the radio reporters said, just walked away quietly after the snub.
later, Jaca downplayed the incident, saying that the activity, organized by city hall, was meant for Pacquiao in the first place.
Unlike the city hall staffers, many ordinary folk recognized Jaca and sought his autograph.
City hall later tried to make up for the misunderstanding and assigned Jaca to one vehicle so he could join the motorcade.
KUNG KINSA TONG STAFF GAGO KA!!!!!!
