Either Romulo Neri has become forgetful or he is still simmering the right label, perhaps beyond "evil", that best befits GMA. When asked what is the adjective that describes Arroyo, Neri failed to summon the words from the deepest gorges of his rationality. It could have salvaged him from the media's itch to scratch off the callous layer of executive privilege firmly wrapped around him. Or it could have bestowed upon him more of the administration's grace, assuming he is willing to grovel before the golden touch of the queen. Or even more, it could have spurred the media into total frenzy. In any case, Neri seems more shy than before to face the inquisitive public. What remains clear, though, is that Neri has been a man of a few words, and seldom with any precision for that matter. Unless he learns to crack his cocoon and to spit the words that can ignite the ZTE-NBN controversy into full blow, much of Lozada's testimony and the sentiment of the nation continue to manifest themselves as mere political residues.
