Default Looking for Full/True HD 1080i/1080p HDTV 16:9

Just a question to those who have an idea where to look for this.
Suggestions are most welcome. From the least to the most expensive.
    Weighing options.

    Must be 16:9 aspect ratio
    Must be 1080p/1080i capable
    Must be Full/True HD

Tried searching the forum but is not allowed. Thanks!

I think the best you can find for that is the Samsung 46" models since those are the only ones that are at 1080p

Theres the Philips 37" LCD TV... its the smallest 1080p I can find locally. - 62-65k

    Philips 42" LCD TV - 99k

I think sony also has 1080p sa 42" models nila but they are more expensive.

  Nice options. Already read the reviews for the Philips 2MP HDTV. Nice price, nice reviews. Far from perfect. Is the PHILIPS 37PFL7422/79 - 37PFL7422 37" Full HD 2MP available locally in the Philippines? And if so, is the price already ok for its size? How much is the listed price there in Cebu City/Cebu? We're considering a Holy Week Vacation there, might pick it up there.

    Inclusions of the price/package?

Thanks very much! Keep 'em coming!

Yup.. i think the price is already ok given the price range of LCD TV's here in the Philippines. Of course if you buy outside it will be cheaper but its gonna be hard to import here..

The price I mentioned is the listed price already.

From what I know, the Philips 37" doesnt have any freebies or inclusions... just a 10,000 discount if you pay cash.. so from 74,999..its gonna be 64,999. There are also options to add a cash for home theatre systems.

The Philips 42" has a free Digital Picture frame aside from the cash discount.. but I dont have too much info on it since I was eyeing the 37".

I wanted to get the Samsung LCD TV but they dont come in 1080p unless its 46" up. My friend who owns a big appliance store here and sells Sony, Samsung and Philips also said he personally recommends the Philips over the Samsung. He said either get Philips or Sony but for the price, Philips is the better value.

I had him setup a display with the Philips side by side with the Sony Bravia... the quality was comparable.

Thanks vipvip68!  day by day I'm starting to get convinced by the 37" PHILIPS Full HDTV as the best buy for its features and attractive price. I'll swing by Cebu hopefully on the Holy Week Season. Hope to see you there!

Hm. Overlooked 1 detail. My plans may have been foiled by the absence of DVI-D/DVI-A connectors of the said PHILIPS 37PFL7422 37" Full HD 2MP. The only connectors are the standard D-SUB 15 pin VGA (which I doubt would support 1080p/1080i signals), and Component analog video (YPbPr)/Component analog video/VGA (RGB/HV), s-video, all of which, save 2 HDMI inputs, are analog in nature.

That being said... I intend to use ASUS EN8800GT/G/HTDP/512M/A Geforce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card Retail

... and, you guessed it, no HDMI, only Component analog video (YPbPr)/Component analog video/VGA (RGB/HV) ...which are analog.

Board has no HDMI either. Palit, Zotac and Galaxy are out of the question, since I'm building an all ASUS setup for showcase. Well, almost an all ASUS setup anyways, no Vento casing here.

I hope someone can address this concern: Will D-SUB 15 pin carry the 1080p/1080i signal? I've tried the D-SUB 15 pin on the 22" Samsung 226BW LCD Monitor, and it was able to display 1920x1050, not so sure if this combination can. Thanks in advance!

ajol is right... u just need a DVI to HDMI cable... those are sold in electronic and a/v shops.

Alternately, if you can find a DVI to HDMI converter...

    It looks like this...

You plug that in sa PC.. you could then connect to the TV using the HDMI cable included sa TV.

Try asking sa forum.. .I know its included sa Emaxx HD 690V motherboards. I have one.. and im planning to use it when I buy the TV.

And No... D-Sub wont work at 1920x1200... sa manual sa Philips it states the max res at 1280x1024 for that D-Sub connector.

Let me know how the Philips 37" LCDTV performs when connected to a PC..planning to buy one myself...
