So much for the "right to bear arms" arguments.
This has gotten a lot of media attention, sure, but the fact is, there are pyschos all around the world and that illegal guns do the majority of the killing outside of war in the US and around the world. The right to bear arms refers to the right to bear legal arms. Illegal arms happen to exist and kill in the Philippines just as they do in the US. The argument of "so much for the right to bear arms argument" doesn't play into this at all.Originally Posted by Juan Miguel

I personally wouldn't mind guns being outlawed, but I am well aware that even though guns don't make society safer, guns don't make it anymore dangerous either. People will find a way to kill each other whether with guns or knives or bombs. Oh yeah, bombs and planes flying into buildings are I'm pretty confident ... also forbidden.
IMO, it is easier to ACQUIRE a firearm in the states than in the Philippines, legally or otherwise.
Honestly, I feel safer walking in Ermita and Pasil than walking than walking in the southside of Chicago not because of anything but because the statistics say so. The bullets here knows no gender, age or race, at least diha sa atoa, mas naa pa'y reason nganong napusilan ka it's whether dumot or krimen. In this side of the world, you get shot for no reason at all. In short, gun laws aside, mas daghan gyud ug tinuod nga yabag diri.
