IPVG drops $17/share bid for PeopleSupport.

MANILA, Philippines -- Publicly listed technology firm IPVG Corp. has withdrawn its bid to acquire Nasdaq-listed contact center PeopleSupport Inc.
“We believe the terms and conditions we have proposed in previous communications are reasonable and critical to moving discussions forward,” IPVG said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange. “Given that the board of (PeopleSupport) is not agreeable to the acceptance of such terms and conditions, we hereby withdraw our offer.”
Before the end of December, IPVG offered to buy PeopleSupport at $15 a share, or $355.5 million. It was turned down.
IPVG later offered $17 a share, a 35-percent premium over PeopleSupport’s closing price on Feb. 5, 2008. The offer, totaling about $403 million, was also turned down. Edited by INQUIRER.net
