Has anyone been able to experiment or even just test the Olympus ES-500? My mom and dad's silver wedding photographer recommends this new DSLR and i'm just wondering how the performance of this thing in comparison to the popular Canon 350D

i've a question regarding the lenses though..are all lenses compatible to different DSLR bodies? Like can i use what lenses you use on Canon, Nikon cameras or will i be limited to what's compatible with the Olympus DSLR cameras only?

@zerone - you're limited to Olympus lenses and 3rd party lenses (Tokina, Sigma, etc.) which have lens mounts for Olympus cameras.

one thing you also have to consider is the local warranty/service. i don't know about olympus, but canon has a presence in cebu and a main service center in manila. this will be important when you need to have your camera repaired....

yeah, you're right. I'll have to look into the support i'll be gettin should i decide to get this camera. About the lens though..do you think it's going to be a problem? Will i have limited access to these Olympus and 3rd party lenses?

I wanted to give this thing a shot..my dad's friend, Ted Madamba, recommended this camera while he was chatting with him during at his gallery in Ayala (it was what he used for those photos). I just got curious

@zerone - i don't think the lenses will be a problem. after all, olympus should support the dslr by making the lenses that should go with the camera.
