Default Intel should go back to the P3 architecture core

Intel Prescott core and the NetBurst derivatives really has more disadvantages than advantages

    1. Heat
    2. High Power Consumption
    3. Low Peformance/Watt
    4. Low Instruction per clock
    5. Needs to be clocked very high to achieve hi performance

Compare it with the mobile Pentium M and its advantages

    1. Very very efficient/Low power consumption
    2. Very cool operation (ideal for multi cores)
    3. Hi Peformance/Watt
    4. Hi IPC
    5. Beats AthlonFX clock4clock on some benchmarks

The prescott core really consumes a lot of power around 100W+ at 3Ghz+ ghz while a 2.0 Pentium M is only barely 20wats at the same or better performance level...
Mobile Pentium 4-M was discontinued by intel in favor of the Pentium M - a modified Pentium III core, a P6 architecture making the Pentium Pro back in 1996!

I heard intel have plans to have this Pentium M as full fledged desktop CPU. I dont know if they will pursue it...

    wat do u tink?

yeah, like they say, how do you make the Pentium 4 better? make it into a Pentium3. hahahaha

yob, in case you didn't know, Intel already did. The Yonah (mobile CPU, already released), Conroe (desktop), and Woodcrest (server) are all based on the Pentium M/3 architecture designed by the Intel team at Israel.

yonah im sure its a has p3 core..i read the review article b4.. i dont see any details of the conroe.. seems like its a derivative of merom - not much details too
    Intel should released it sooner...

bisag unsaon ug increase sa intel ang cache sa ilang processor.. mas effective gihapon ang naay integrated memory controller like AMD.. sa tanaw nako di ni masundog sa intel sa umaabot nilang processors
