    .................................................. ....................

    Release Date: June 2007 (wide)

Release Date Note: (3/23/03) Because of the lengths of the fourth and this fifth novel (nearly 900 pages!), there have been reports that each of these books may actually each be produced as two separate films at the same time (like Lord of the Rings and the Matrix sequels), and then released in the same year. With the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, scheduled for release in June, 2004, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire seems likely for 2005 or 2006, which suggests a 2006 or 2007 (or maybe even 200 release for this movie(s). Of course, the rapid aging of the kids is a big factor in these movies getting made so quickly. (7/5/03) In conjunction with the hype around the publication of this book, a Warner Bros. spokesperson recently announced that the release target for this movie is four years from now, in the summer of 2007, following the November, 2005 release of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The studio is timing the movies so that they are each about 15-18 months apart, and in either June or November. Following that logic, we can expect movie #6 to be released in November, 2008 and for the whole thing to wrap up with movie #7 in June, 2010.

    Distributor: Warner Bros. Pictures

Distributor Notes: (3/23/03) When Warner Bros. first acquired the rights to produce 'Harry Potter' movies from J.K. Rowling, they only bought the first four films, with a "first look" option on this fifth in the 7-part series. Warner Bros. is expected to exercise that option, but that hasn't officially been announced yet. The word is that the film rights are expected to be secured by the June 21st, 2003 publication of the novel.

Production Company: 1492 Pictures, Heyday Films (the previous Harry Potter films)

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), David Bradley (Argus Filch), John Cleese (Nearly Headless Nick), Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid), Alfie Enoch, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Pam Ferris (Aunt Marge), Michael Gambon (Professor Albus Dumbledore), Jimmy Gardner (Ernie Prang), Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon Dursley), Joshua Herdman (Gregory Goyle), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Miriam Margolyes (Profesor Sprout), Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley), Hugh Mitchell (Colin Creevey), Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan), Katharine Nicholson (Pansy Parkinson), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), James Phelps (Fred Weasley), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley), Alan Rickman (Professor Severus Snape), Fiona Shaw (Aunt Petunia Dursley), Maggie Smith (Professor Minerva McGonagall), Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew), David Thewlis (Remus Lupin), Julie Walters (Mrs. Molly Weasley), Jamie Waylett (Vincent Crabbe), Paul Whitehouse (Sir Cadogan), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)

Cast Notes: (3/23/03) The above list of actors (based upon actors who have appeared in past films) should be considered very tentative for a few reasons. First, it's possible that contract negotiations may cause any of them to not sign on for a fifth book/movie. Secondly, it's possible that in adapting such a long book, the scenes that these actors that include a particular character might not be in the film at all. Finally, since the book won't even be published for another three months, it's possible that some of them simply don't appear in the novel. (7/20/05) Daniel Radcliffe has confirmed that he will be returning to play Harry for the fifth time. So far he's the only cast member to go on record to be coming back.

New Characters Notes: (3/23/03) Every new 'Harry Potter' book/movie introduces new characters (including a new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor), and this one is sure to be no different. The one character I've heard that will be introduced in this book is Mrs. Arabella Figg. Also, Mad-Eye Moody, who was introduced in Goblet of Fire, is expected to be seen again. (8/10/03) Someone has written in to let me know (since I've not yet read books #4 and #5) that Mrs. Figg is mentioned at least twice in Goblet of Fire, though I was probably not wrong in thinking her first film appearance will be in this one.

Director: David Yates (feature debut; he recently directed the HBO film The Girl in the Cafe)

Director Notes: (3/23/03) Concerning the job of director for this movie, there are four main possibilities at this point: 1) Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) may sign on for this movie as well; 2) Chris Columbus, who directed the first two movies, might return for the fifth; 3) a new director may come aboard the franchise starting with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and return for this fifth adaptation as well; and 4) someone new might be hired. On that last point, over the years, there have been many, many rumored directors for this or any other HP movie. There will probably be some new names mentioned by the time the job is actually filled. (4/16/03) Chris Columbus told CBBC News recently that he's definitely considering returning to the franchise with this fifth movie. (7/20/05) David Yates has been announced as the director. He's a well-regarded television director for the BBC, and this will be his first theatrical feature.

Screenwriter: Michael Goldenberg (Peter Pan, Contact)

Screenwriter Notes: (7/20/05) This will be the first Harry Potter movie not written by Steve Kloves.

Based Upon: This movie will be based upon the fifth novel in the 7-part 'Harry Potter' series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" (which is 896 pages, the longest thus far), by British author J.K. Rowling, which will reach stores (in hardcover) on June 21st, 2003. The previous four films are: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005 or 2006). (9/28/03) The British tabloid newspaper The Sun reported earlier this month that Warner Bros. has registered two titles that could be the titles of the sixth and seventh novels (and therefore, the sixth and seventh movies). The thing to remember, of course, is that the titles could be red herrings made up by Warner Bros. to throw people off. If they're real, however, the titles are 'Harry Potter and the Mudblood Revolt' and 'Harry Potter and the Quest of the Centaur.'

Premise: Harry Potter returns for his fifth year at Hogwarts still shaken by the tragedy of the previous year's Triwizard Tournament. With the Ministry of Magic denying the truth about Lord Voldemort's return, Harry has come under suspicion from the wizarding community. As Harry struggles with the problems at school, including the hateful new teacher Dolores Umbridge, he tries to learn more about the mysterious Order of the Phoenix and their role in the fight against the Dark Lord.

Premise Note: (3/23/03) I thought it would be fun to make a prediction three months early that the person who dies in this fifth book might be... Ginny Weasley. I say that having not even read the fourth book yet, but I just feel like hers would be the most tragic and poignant death (since she's close to Harry, and more importantly, so young!). The leading bets, however, are on Albus Dumbledore (which would pave the way for a new Hogwart's Headmaster) and Hagrid (who himself is a very tragic character). It's just of my nature to try to predict a "dark horse" candidate in these sort of things... even if I'm wildly wrong about Ginny, I *do* think it will be a surprise. We'll see. When I get the news of who it is in June, I will place the name in a spoiler warning.

(a few hours later) Hmmm... apparently, J.K. Rowling described the deceased as a "fan" of Harry's, which narrows the field considerably, and does indeed suggest it could be Ginny Weasley. In a way, I'm a bit disappointed that she's revealed that, because I was so proud of thinking of Ginny all by myself! Of course, Harry has many "fans" (that word could be interpreted very vaguely to include Hagrid, Dumbledore, or many others).

(3/30/03) I've gotten so many notes from fans about him that I guess I have to mention that another character who is a "fan of Harry", which leads many fans to think he's targeted-for-death is photography enthusiast Colin Creevey. I guess the reason I didn't mention him is that a) this whole thing started when I predicted Ginny *without* the benefit of knowing about the "fan" thing, and b) I figured people could just follow the links below and find out about Colin themselves. Anyway, this is all very academic, because that "fan" thing could be something of a red herring... aren't there about 20+ characters who could be described as fans, almost everyone except Slytherins (and even some of them *sort* of like Harry, like Prof. Snape, for example)?

Well, those who have read the book in the two weeks since its publication *know* the answer to this question now, but if you don't plan on reading the book, and just want to know which "fan of Harry" dies *anyway*, click and scroll over the following white "spoiler space": Sirius Black, the mysterious figure from the third book who turned out to actually be one of the good guys in the battle against the machinations against Voldemort.

Filming: (3/23/03) There is no known production start date for this film, though I can speculate that it will probably be sometime in 2005. (7/5/03) With the fourth movie not being released until late 2005, my best guess for when this might start filming would be in early 2006. In early 2006, Daniel Radcliffe, who will be playing the 15-year-old Harry Potter, will only be a year older, at 16 (as will Emma Watson). Rupert Grint, the senior of the starring trio, will be be a 17-year-old playing a 15-year-old. (7/20/05) The film is scheduled to start production on February 1st, 2006.

I dont pesonnaly think there might be a problem with the castings. I mean, even if the original cast of the first 4 movies may not sign or may not be available on remaining films, they surely could make solution to that.
Excatly like what they did with Albus Dumbledore, diba? Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris in the first two films. Harris died some time after the second film and the part was played in the third film by Michael Gambon and hopefully until the 7th. So basically, even if there are constraints on the casting, slight ra tingali nga dilemma na siya.

I also dont thing Mrs. Figg will appear on the goblet of fire(not sure though), as your selected article stated that she was only mentioned in this book at least twice, which is correct. But dako kaayo ug possiblity nga mo-appear sya sa order of phoenix as she testifies for harry before the ministry when harry was forced to use magic outside school to fight againts the dementors. But, dili tingali ni niya first appearance oi, because as far as I could remember, ni-appear na ni siya sa Sorcerer Stone nga movie. Dili na no-on kaayo ko sure ani.

obviously, the 6th book title is "half blood prince" though wala pa title ang seven. But Ginny did not die until the sixth book, by the way. Ayaw lang sad. Si Dumbledore, yes. But I think, drama ra tingali ang pagka-matay para mo-kompyansa ang dark lord. But si Sirius, tinuod gyud nga namatay. Basin siya ang gi-mean nimo nga death sa "fan" ni Harry.

WELL, THESE ARE TO MY ACCRODING ra pud!!!

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Fans of literary boy wizard Harry Potter (news - web
sites) have been beating a path to the tomb of a 19-year-old British
soldier who is buried in a cemetery close to Tel Aviv.

Corporal Harry Potter, a member of the Royal Worcestershire regiment,
was killed 66 years ago during fighting in the southern West Bank town of
Hebron and was subsequently laid to rest in a cemetery in the town of
    Ramle.

"Every day tourists and visitors come wanting to see Harry's grave," the
cemetery's custodian Ibrahim Huri told the Maariv daily on Tuesday.

"At first I didn't know why they were interested in this grave, but then I
as told there were books and movies about him."

The local council has recently added the grave to the official tourist guide.

"There is great interest and curiosity over Harry's grave," Ramle deputy
mayor said. "We want to make an historical investigation into the soldier
killed in Hebron when he was only 19."

I personally don't like book 5 (of all the 6 books released)..Sirius Black's death was meaningless and left me with questions..BUT i'd like to see the movie..I hope Gary Oldman gets to portray Serius Black again..

I think all three lead stars signed up to do all 7 movies. Ako pa nila, they'd do 6 and 7 back to back in the future kay tiguwang na ni sila.
