1. Tuition? Not much. Just sweat, blood and tears. Enrol with Mowelfund (I have fundamental differences with this organization on "what comprise the so-called Cebuano audience?") and find yourself apprenticeship with on-going productions.
2. Get to New York City if you can. If you must know, almost all New York people --- from barbers to waiters to street cleaners to 5th Avenue executives --- are members of the Screen Actors Guild via IATSE. New York City being the largest outdoor location in the whole of film industry.
3. Or you can try WETA Workshop in New Zealand. This is a Peter Jackson facility and responsible for the Lord of the Ring trilogy. This facility just completed "Narnia" and is now re-making "King Kong".
4. But if you have money to burn, mount a full production in Cebu. I will share with you a study I did on the market of Cebuano/Visayan films --- which was done for three years and chi-squared for inter-relationship like analysis to question like "what do 16-year-old female Catholic in Sta. Cruz Mission prefer to watch?" Plus marketing strategies on how to deal with Manila cabal.
koto,
Zimbabwe cannot speak of a film industry. But within that region --- criscrossing Upper and Lower Volta --- until Johannesburg, you will find a large collection of Zimbabwe films released on DVDs and VCDs.
I tried this method of marketing recently with my recent work. The overall result was not bad in the US where I tested it. And now I plan to do more of it.
In the meantime, get yourself a High Definition 16:9 24P camera, if you follow this route. (note: This system will revamp you usual DV set-up. But Matrox has a downloadable upgrade tools for its RT100.A Extreme capture system.) And start making movies!
Would you share with us the answer to this question?Originally Posted by Blongkoy
