Well, if you find yourself constantly spinning hypothesis and testing and evaluating these hypotheses out via experimentation and observation, then you my friend, are doing science. Watch COSMOS by Carl Sagan to know what I'm talking about.

If you want a more substantial verbatim quote answer, here it is:

    What is the ``scientific method''?

The scientific method is the best way yet discovered for winnowing the truth from lies and delusion. The simple version looks something like this:

    * 1. Observe some aspect of the universe.
    * 2. Invent a tentative description, called a hypothesis, that is consistent with what you have observed.
    * 3. Use the hypothesis to make predictions.
    * 4. Test those predictions by experiments or further observations and modify the hypothesis in the light of your results.
    * 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment and/or observation.

When consistency is obtained the hypothesis becomes a theory and provides a coherent set of propositions which explain a class of phenomena. A theory is then a framework within which observations are explained and predictions are made.

There is no sublime nor clandestine cloak and dagger stuff in science...everything is tested, observed and evaluated. The only reason why Religious arguments like this arise is simply because those siding with the religious explanation have the ELBOW ROOM to claim what they want to claim, kasi nga, you cannot observe an event that has already occurred.

    (from the same article)
There are many types of ``pseudo-scientific'' theories which wrap themselves in a mantle of apparent experimental evidence but that, when examined closely, are nothing but statements of faith. The argument cited by some creationists, that science is just another kind of faith is a philosophic stance which ignores the trans-cultural nature of science. Science's theory of gravity explains why both creationists and scientists don't float off the earth. All you have to do is jump to verify this theory - no leap of faith required.

lol... ako pa nimo dhong... basa na lang ug komiks. You're statements proved to be more "ignorant" than intellectual... kindly read your statements below.
Nya ang sabot nimo is that i am using science to prove God? Asa man? pakita kuno. Kutaw nas pod imong utok sa? hahahaha.

ang akong gibuhat noy kay nigamit ko ug science to disprove your "scientific data kuno" against biblical facts. i hope makasabot naka ani oi.

nya kaning osa ni second motion dYUN, utro pod wa kasabot. maayo jud pareson ang duha.
In your previous posts dhong, was that your scientific "theories" are trying to prove your god. Di ba mao na imong punto? You want to merge your outdated scientific theories to prove your god's existence? Again, you use your outdated science to disprove my scientific datas? For what basis on your biblical fact? Facts gud tawn nga bible is not intended for science unya you're trying to disprove and merge them with your outdated scientific facts? Genius... sheer genius (in case you don't know, I'm sarcastic).

I think well researched posts are good ones. Rodsky bai, nice one about the scientific method.

It probably can't be denied that no system is free of errors but, rejecting any system because errors were found (in science or in religion) is like throwing the baby with the bathwater. Any system can be improved over time, if we only keep at it.
    ---

I personally don't see a conflict between religion and science. Both are searches for truth in different domains. I consider it that some persons or organizations are the ones creating this conflict, unnecessarily compelling some people to make a choice they don't even have to make in the first place.

I think there is no essential competition between roses and lilies.
