Although Im kinda late to reply coz I just got this game as a gift last Christmas 2005.Â* Last Night I was bored & since BFME 2 & Empire @ War is weeks away from release, so I installed the game.Â* At first I was skeptical or not excited because of all Boards/customers feedback that I read, its a buggy game especially on a ATI card.Â* 1st I orient myself w/ the controls & re-map them to my liking, read the manual...then Im Off!Â* Played the Oman Map & played as a USMC specialist...My goodness....the game is "F" ing great!Â* And it runs smooth on my Rig.Â* Did not notice any hiccups @ all.Â*

I was practicaly nashing my teeth & swearing coz I di-commisioned their Communications/Radar & after that I hide @ the 2nd floor of the unfinished building laying an ambush to those who will try to fix the comms or re-take the Flag points.Â* I didÂ* head/face & neck shots to conserve ammo but after awhile I was running low.Â* I requested for ammo but nobody come to my aide.Â* Soon I was undersiege. Enemy troops were lobing grenades @ my hiding spot to flush me out & theres more enemy troops coming from ladders & stairs trying put me out.Â* I enjoy Counterstrike & Ghost Recon for Multi-player but from my experience last night of playing Battlefield 2, This game will stay in my hardrive for a looong time - until theres a sequel.

I am now a Fan on this game.Â*

well, there's already a sequel out couple of months ago but you will still need the orig BF2 game. the sequel is Battlefield 2: Special Forces. just like what it says... special forces.. Russian Spetsnaz, US Navy Seals... rebels etc etc. Game's more focused on team tactics... smaller maps, CQB's. Gamit na mga flashbang, grapling hook and zip lines,NV goggles.. one of the coolest map is that the USS essex is will be the battlefield. fighting happens mostly inside the aircraft carrier. This is a very good addition to the orig game. plus.. you have new weapon unlocks!!!

If I install the new expansion "special forces" will I re-instal the new patch again? About the weapon unlocks - does this expansion pack unlock the other weapons from the original BF2 without going online & logging for hours for points?

you will need to re-install the 1.2 patch after installing special forces.

I think it will give you 2 free weapon unlocks (as i have experienced) on the plain BF2. but you must need to unlock the primary weapon before unlocking the secondary weapon. eg: assault kit: M4+203 > G3 > p2000.
