PUP serves the people, they go to the farms as for their thesis, they go to the seas to be with the fishermen's as for their thesis and etc etc, they will go where most graduating students will not go, the courage to stand up for the truth is not ordinary as we see today.

It's good to be idealistic actually, but not OVERLY IDEALISTIC, which I think is what happened there in PUP and what Archer really means.

I think so. I guess the more you know things, the more you analyze how the system works and what are the loopholes. Thus, the activists (mostly intellects), who makes their presence felt no matter what to represent the oppressed.

About this PUP incident, I'd somewhat concur to what yokam posted earlier sa thread. Reasonably speaking, of course.

They were called iskolar ng bayan because most of them came from poor families.And to say nga nag usik lang ang gobyerno sa kwarta aning mga tawhana,sayop sila.They have earned their scholarship di parehas sa uban dha nga politiko maglingkod lang ug mohakot sa kaban sa nasud.Kung unsa man ang mahitabo sa ilang actions andam na sila pagdawat at least they have the voice.

that was an expression. do you think they are hallucinating that they can change things overnight? that's an insult to state scholar's intellect.

And sad to say such expression is totally uncalled for. I wonder how long "overnight" is because in almost more than a decade such people are doing almost exactly the same acts the only difference is that they were doing it against different people. Now, after a decade, have anything changed significantly?

The big insult is that they're supposed to be scholars yet they're acting like kinder 1 section X students.
