But I guess the opening remark was kinda off the mark kay gisugdan man god ug Hala samoka pa ninyou atong presidente... which seemed to imply that just because these were caused by outside forces we should not make her administration accountable for the lack of preparation to meet the problems head on. The reason why the presidency is determined by an election is precisely because she will always be held accountable to the country's citizens (here and abroad) whether or not the problems that face him/her are internally or externally driven. I for one thinks that the VAT on fuel BY NOW should have already been discontinued or at least scaled down. Our country projects its revenues based on certain assumptions. The revenues raised from VAT on fuel I am sure has already far exceeded this administrations forecast so why continue to be greedy? dapat kutob ra unta ang VAT up to a certain price in fuel. BUT kung naa pa gyud ni silay simpatiya sa plight nato why was this not done? MANAGEMENT OF AN EXTERNAL PROBLEM REQUIRES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MITIGATING MEASURES DOABLE WITHIN THE POWERS OF PRESIDENT. The suspension of VAT is just one measure. Daghan pa ang puedeng himoon. Bright ug hardworking man kaha nang atong presidente?
I was just kinda sarcastic because these very same people and the personalities and principle they are rooting for has nothing to show for, no solution to offer and the people they want to sit in the government is obviously MORE CORRUPT than who is sitting right now.
Yes, the president is accountable directly or indirectly for what is happening to the country right now but the president is only human. If people against her won't ease up on their attacks then for me, it would not be totally the President's fault.
And ultimately, IT IS OUR FAULT, the people, for putting the President into office. Are we going to talk about her legitimacy because of the EDSA 2 or the "Hello Garci?" let's go over it and move on because those did not prosper. Regardless if they were true or not, the court or congress has the call on those issues and if the the people are not satisfied by the court or congress' decision, then there should have been a revolution by now. We might think that booting the president out is a political exercise because it is done by congress or justices that are presidential-appointees then that is not the President's fault anymore. IF we don't agree with the system then the people should take measures that this system should be changed but what makes it more frustrating is that we are not doing anything even if are aware of this loophole a long time ago, so why bother?
Looking beyond, these people would always be attacking the one sitting in Malacanang if it is not them or their puppet.
