Firstly, I thought that there is nothing else better than Shawarma Rice. They say there is a new craze in the rice business better than Shawarma Rice? That can't be true right? This is something I needed to check for myself. I have had my share of the latter and this might settle the question everyone is asking. Is Teppanyaki Rice better than Shawarma Rice?



Let me find that out for you.



The bowl contained the same toppings like SR does and it all lies in the sauce. The sauce was rather errr somewhat Japanese? This is the pork variant. Pork is always my go-to meat in case I am not certain how a meal is cooked. This is spicy and yes I was expecting it to be so. Apparently, it lacked the spiciness I looked for. It was way to subtle.

I was not a huge fan of the sauce. I felt it lacked an element. It was yummy for a bowl of Php55 but it wasn't really fulfilling.



Or is this the answer to the question? Does MSG really bring out the best in every meal?

Teppanyaki Rice is located at 2nd floor of Robinson's Cybergate in Fuente Osmeña Circle, Cebu City. Shawarma Rice is located at major malls and even in IT PARK in the second floor or i2.

Teppanyaki = The verdict: 2 1/2 Might try the beef.
Shawarma Rice = The verdict: 5
