If we look closely at the picture, I think the Congressmen are the ones who intend to benefit from pursuing charter change, even with barely a year left before the 2010 national elections. Charter change is good, but timing is an important factor to be considered. The Congressmen say they want to amend the economic provisions of the Constitution, but the Congressmen also want to change the form of government from presidential to parliamentary.

At this time, the resolution is merely a preliminary act to more necessary acts to finally and fully amend the Constitution. There will be more stumbling blocks in the future so let's not waste our time rallying. Ultimately, the people will still be the final judge whether to accept the amendments or reject the same.

I hope we'll switch to a federal government so we'll be more focused on state building and not central government decisions.

kung parliamentary system na ta, dili na ta kabotar ug presidente. sila-sila na lang na mga members of the parliament ang makapili ug president.
i don't want to relinguish that right to elect a President.

    Correct!

Gi-ilad lang ta aning manila government. Unsa man sila ray tag-iya aning nasura? Sila ray bulahan aning present system nato (murag alimatok sigeg sopsop sa income sa mga probinsya). So provinces, let us unite for our right to prosper with our own income and focus on our own development!

Gloria knows this is the defect of this present system since she is a probinsyana.

    CHA-CHA for absolute change!

It is not the system that should be change, but the people who runs it! peace....
bro, if you read on the primer for CHACHA, you would have come to understand that the present govt we have is centralized in nature!the power ,authority, decision making, etc is on the national level. can we trace if our congressmen, etc are passing bills for our respective districts, etc.?of course, they can by all means, say to you that they have but was denied. in addition, diba ang executive, legislative, judicial powers ky gi.buwag sa president, congressmen/senators, and supreme court. sa tulo, ang pirmi mag.tigi ky ang first two!grabe ang friction sa duha!tag.sa2x mag.himo ug mga policies unya kontra!walay coordination...mao na lisod ug magbuhat ug mga reforms...sayop ang usa, imbestigaron sa usa, and vice versa!mao na walay jud agi ang kaning mga tawhana..kabantay ka?

through this change, ang legislative/executive powers ma.dungan ug exercise sa usa ka body.at least, there is coordination for the policies na later maka.push through ug mga reforms!

sakto ka bro, angay sad i.blame ang mga tawo who runs the government...but are these individuals, parties are program oriented?i'll talk about parties lang..daghan au ta parties no?usa mga gamit ani nila?wla jud!sa rally nuon, naay daghan..election sad..kung ma.change ang structure sa ato government, each of the social issues will be PROPERLY represented by a dedicated party.kana, makaingon na jud ka na kani na party, mao jud ni iya tumong sa Pilipinas. kung walay improvement, wala jud ni cia au!...sa ato present government, maka.point finger ba ka kung kinsa walay buhat?

    ...peace

mao man jd na ang tumong parliamentary system dili ka ka.butar sa prime minister and/or president..ang mga members sa parliament ra maka.elect judged from his leadership skills! ang importante ani na system is that your vote for the member of the parliament who are competent and exercise good leadership in your district
