and that is correct!....everybody knows all proc produces heat...my question is, will amd capable of using heatsink without fan? intel does! if its, then how big would be?

Yes, fan failure is also a possibility, very good point BeOR. For me though, this is a maintenance issue. One of the biggest causes for fan failure would be because of dust, if you do a regualr maintenance check which should include cleaning this will extend the life of your fan long enough Now some people mite say, aha, this is intels advantage, you dont have to clean your fans because when it breaks down its not going to burn anyway. Well I will simply tell these people to go ahead, dont clean their systems, but I do warn them that dust doesnt only destroy fans, but every moving part inside your cpu like hard disks, cdroms..etc.. are also prone to breakdown because od dust. Another factor would be what kind of fan do you have? We should learn how to choose the upper class heatsink and fans to ensure us good performance and long lasting quality(this goes for intel and amd users).
As for the clips that are really sharp, as long as the trained and skilled technicians (I mentioned trained and skilled because this processes does require training and should be left to those who know how to do it properely) install them properely on the first time, I think they should be ok. It is the removing and installing over and over again that increases the risk of these "lugs" breaking off.
By the way BeOR new NR70V casing arriving tonight![]()
Intel, also cannot run long with no Fan on heatsink... same lang sila, the difference is, AMD will burn, or... hmmm... maybe with P4...we dont know...
Basta, Hyperthreading RuleZ!!! anybody wants to sponsor a P4 3.06 for me? jk!
Yes AMD will burn if you use it without the fan and just the heatsink on. Intel, like BeOR said, will throttle down and stop. This was tested by TomsHardware thus coming up with the famous first ever Tomshardware video with the burning athlon and the Intel processor hanging up.
So why would you want to use the heatsink without the fan? It jst like making your processor run without the heatsink since, the heatsink-the fan= no heatsink and fan at all. An Intell processor cannot run without the heatsink and fan either cause it will jsut hang up.
hey guyz if you have an old amd processors; speed not lower than 1gig.........i am interested for it.......
THE ONLY LIVING iSTORYA...
As a matter of fact DiSLOVE I do. what do you need them for? Well actually thats not my business anymore, hehehe. We have an unlocked 1.2 processor, AMD thunderbird.
I have 2... 1GHz and 1.4GHz. all unlocked and overclockable. pero ako usa huna-huna-on kung ako ba baligya...![]()
amd...![]()
coz lots of my friend gusto mu shift na ug AMD. I dont know why? maybe bcause most people na naa sa istorya.com are AMD user....ill call u bai lito and ryan ha bout this.........
THE ONLY LIVING iSTORYA...
well atleast new mobos have the ability to turn off the system when the fan is detected not spinning.
