Marion Helps Suns End Struggles on the Road
INDIANAPOLIS, March 30 (Ticker) -- While the Indiana Pacers seemed to be focused on honoring Reggie Miller, Shawn Marion and the Phoenix Suns focused on ending their road woes.
Marion scored 29 points and reigning MVP Steve Nash added 15 and 13 assists as the Suns spoiled the Miller's night with a 114-104 victory over the Pacers.
Miller had his No. 31 retired during a halftime ceremony. He spent all 18 seasons of his career with Pacers, becoming the NBA's all-time leader with 2,560 3-pointers before retiring at the end of last season. The 6-7 sharpshooter was a five-time All-Star and recognized as one of the best clutch players in league.
However, if Indiana had any extra motivation, it did not show as Phoenix improved to 1-2 on a five-game road trip after losing by an average of 30 points in the first two contests of the trek.

looks who's surpassing in the west...... the spurs are now into the rhythm..![]()
Enter the days for the incoming playoffs, the teams that are most likely to battle it out with determination and discipline to win the title are sending messages in their respective last games of the season.
If i were to rank them, i'd like to share my thoughts though...so here they are.
1. San Antonio - they've won their last 8 games in 10 games and has been in a steady elevation after the win against the Lakers. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker are doing it again, having guided the Spurs to being, well assumingly, become the No. 1 team in the West. Last 10 games ain't that hard though, Kings, Mavs and Grizz will visit them.
2. Detroit - like the Spurs, they've won 8 of 10 andh as lost only once on Aprils since they became champions, all the way to the NBA Finals. Chauncey and Rip will lead them all the way, not to mention the towers in the Wallaces and the efforts McDyess and the bench. Last 11 games? They'll host Phoenix and Cleveland and will visit the Heat for their final encounter.
3. New Jersey - Considered as a sleeper. The way they've been playing lately, I think they pose a bigger challenge to the Pistons than the Heat. Kidd, Jefferson and Carter have been great and Nenad Krstic has really developed into a good player, they have a thin bench though... and so is Detroit. And did i mention they've already won 10 straight? The Nets are back... 12 games left, but they'll make it to playoffs with a win vs. the Hawks then host Miami and Cleveland.
4. Miami - This is Wade's team now,(sorry Shaq) and for all his efforts and analysts' best wishes to become the MVP this season, the Heat are pushing in for the playoffs. Won 8 of their last 10 and has been consistent in every way they can. The Shaq and Zo tandem has been explored and in their last 10, Cleveland, New Jerset and Detroit are in line.
5. Dallas - They've been looked down from time to time, but Avery Johnson wants some lovin' with his boys after an "impressive season"... again. I wouldn't want to deny their efforts but they're a whole lot better team now. Last 10, they'll meet the Clippers twice along with Phoenix, Denver and San Antonio.
HONORABLE MENTION:
Phoenix - Sure, Amare is down again, but the Suns are performing well without him. They've lost 5 of their last 10, and rebounded against Indiana to snap their 2 straight blowout losses. Steve Nash and company will have to deal with their defenses since Kurt Thomas and Amare is on IL.
That's all folks!!!
^^ nice analysis. but I'm also expecting upsets in this years' playoffs.

sorry, im not somebody who is wise enough to know... just really wanna share my thoughts.Originally Posted by gregggy_ph

Nuggets have won 6 of their last 10 after a win vs. Minnesota to snap their 2 straight losses. They have a 41-32 record tied with the Memphis Grizzlies, but, they are in the 3rd spot since they lead their division, a benefit maybe. And they're going to meet of course, Pau2x and company if the playoffs start today. They have an above average line-up with the hardworking Camby and Reggie Evans, Kenyon Martin and others.
My take vs. the Grizz? Denver wins 4-3 and will meet the winner between the Suns-Lakers match-up, which is a 4-3 for me in favor of Phoenix but i would say, an "upset" is gonna happen if the Suns aren't careful with the LA Kobes.

Just sharing my thoughts sir archer, sir...Originally Posted by archer_sensation
